Scanning sports cards and checking parallels

CollX documents identification of raw and graded cards, including variations such as parallels and reprints. In sports collecting, the same player photograph may appear on several treatments. Compare the year, manufacturer, card number and parallel before adding a match to your inventory.

A slab label can help with identification, but the saved record still needs to match the physical item you intend to keep or sell.

Collection organization for larger inventories

The app offers collection views organized as grids, lists and sets, with sorting by attributes such as date, value, year and team. This is useful when a collector alternates between completing a set and finding stock for a trade. Portfolio totals and history provide an overview, while individual records remain the place to inspect an unusual value.

Selling from the same collection

CollX includes a marketplace with buying, selling and bundled deals. Its paid seller features include enhanced listing tools and automated repricing. Separate the decision to catalogue a card from the decision to offer it for sale: an estimated collection value is not the same as a completed sale or your net proceeds.

Before listing a batch, review the description and physical condition of each item and the current marketplace terms.

Sports, TCGs and language editions

The listing covers major sports plus categories including wrestling, MMA, boxing, golf and tennis. Its TCG list includes Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Flesh and Blood, One Piece and Lorcana, alongside selected non-sport collectibles. Coverage of a category does not establish that every set, parallel or regional issue is catalogued.

Apple lists an English interface. The sources checked do not enumerate all card-edition languages; search an exact foreign-language printing before building a collection around its recognition.

Free limits, Pro and Scan+

The official Pro page advertises unlimited collection capacity, while its comparison describes a free collection of fewer than 500 cards. Pro is advertised at $10 per month or $100 annually and includes CSV export and additional seller tools. Check the current offer in your purchase flow.

Pro also includes 500 monthly Scan+ credits for its enhanced recognition workflow. This is a separate allowance from regular scanning, so do not interpret unlimited collection space as unlimited Scan+ credits.

Exports and inventory outside CollX

CSV export is a documented Pro feature. This is relevant if you maintain a second stock sheet or want an inventory copy outside the app. Export a sample before entering a major collection and inspect how quantities, variations and purchase information are represented. A useful inventory transfer depends on those fields, not just the existence of a download.

Latest update: sealed items and selling details

Version 4.0.9 is dated September 20, 2026 in the Apple snapshot. Its notes describe passkey access and improved support for sealed packs, boxes and cases, including configurations such as hobby and blaster products. They also discuss scan-upload progress and deal-status information in chat. These changes extend the collection and selling workflow without supplying a measured scanner-accuracy result.
