What we collect and why
You can read our reviews and news without creating an account. We do not take payments or ask you to submit your card collection. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical request information such as IP addresses, browser information and access logs to deliver and protect the website. We use this processing for our legitimate interests in operating a reliable, secure publication.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. We use it to respond, handle corrections and resolve your request. Please include only the information needed for that purpose.
Optional analytics
With your permission, Google Analytics helps us understand which pages readers visit and how they use the site. It processes page visits, browser and device information, approximate location and cookie identifiers. We load Google Analytics only after you accept analytics. Rejecting analytics leaves the site fully usable.
Google Signals, advertising personalization and user-provided data collection are disabled for this property. We remove query strings and fragments from the page address sent with our page-view configuration. We do not send your emails or card collections to Analytics.
Cookies and your choice
We store your analytics preference in your browser for 180 days. If accepted, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies with names such as _ga and _ga_LFX4VXT621; these are configured to expire after 180 days without extending that expiry on each visit. You can change your choice using in the footer. Rejecting after accepting stops analytics on this browser and removes its analytics cookies. You can also clear your browser’s stored website data.
Service providers and retention
Vercel hosts the website and Google processes optional analytics. Their infrastructure may process information outside your country. See Vercel’s privacy notice, Vercel’s data processing terms and Google’s privacy policy for their processing and transfer safeguards.
Our Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention is set to two months, with the reset-on-new-activity option disabled. Aggregated reports may remain available longer. Hosting logs are retained under Vercel’s service settings. We retain correspondence for the time needed to answer and resolve the matter, and for any applicable recordkeeping requirement.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time; withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact us using the email above to exercise your rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. The European Commission explains these rights.
