THE REVIEW

Mixed TCG inventory with marketplace exports

Dexter is worth shortlisting when a mixed TCG inventory needs to end in a marketplace file or listing. Its stated free scanning access and location tracking are practical strengths for sorting boxes of cards.

Games and card-language editions.

Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Disney Lorcana, Star Wars Unlimited

Apple release history documents English, Japanese, German, Spanish and French card-language flags and their export. These are inventory fields, not a verified recognition guarantee for every printing in each language.

From camera recognition to an organized record

The official listings describe continuous camera recognition, game and set filters, and saving cards into binder or box locations. Start with a small physical group so the detected printing can be checked against the card before scaling up.

Use a location name you can find again. If several boxes share a theme, add a shelf or box identifier rather than relying on a broad label such as duplicates. The best inventory is useful when a buyer asks for one specific copy.

Games and printed-card languages

The developer names Pokémon, Magic, Lorcana and Star Wars Unlimited. Those four games are the supported scope assessed here; a general promise of more games does not identify another catalogue.

The iOS history adds English, Japanese, German, Spanish and French language flags with export support. Confirm that the saved flag matches the physical edition. A language field helps record inventory, while identifying the right set and printing is a separate check.

Full portfolio scanning and management

Cloud sync, collection values in multiple currencies and binder/box organization are described in the store listings. That combination suits an inventory used across storage locations rather than only a list of favorite cards.

Finish one physical section at a time. Count duplicate copies, confirm finishes and keep completed piles apart from cards still awaiting entry. Reconcile the saved section before scanning another one, so an early mistake does not spread across a whole collection.

After sales and trades, update outgoing quantities promptly. A portfolio total remains useful only while its entries reflect cards you still own; a sold card should not keep contributing to the displayed inventory.

CSV exports and selling

Dexter documents marketplace-oriented CSV exports for Cardmarket and TCGPowerTools, alongside a connected eBay listing workflow. These give the saved record an onward use beyond its collection screen.

Before exporting a whole inventory, inspect a small file for identifiers, language flags, quantities and any fields your selling workflow requires. Marketplace preparation still needs the condition and physical-copy details checked against the cards.

Keep the original exported file before making marketplace-specific changes. If an import rejects a row, that copy helps you distinguish a source-record problem from a later spreadsheet edit.

Free access and platform choice

Both official store descriptions advertise unlimited free scanning. The checked US Apple listing shows a free download and does not publish a subscription price list. The sources do not specify an export quota or a paid export allowance.

Apple and Google listings identify the same Dexter product from Fortis Ventures. Its official privacy page also describes a web companion for viewing a collection synced from mobile. Plan the capture session on the phone and use the viewing tools that fit your inventory checks.

Latest release and our verdict

iOS version 2.0.0 was released September 28, 2026 with an authentication update. Google’s listing was updated September 27 with an authentication fix. These notes do not establish a new scanning-speed result.

Compare Dexter if you want free scanning of several TCGs and a clear path toward marketplace exports. For a set-completion project, also look at a specialist app; for a selling inventory, the storage and export workflow deserves the closer trial.
